Intermittent Power Seat controls
Guys,
i have a 06 330i that has some problems with my seat controller. It started a while back when i noticed that a water bottle was stuck under the driver seat. That lead to problems with using the seat movement buttons when I am in the chair. If I moved my butt forward it would work, but not in a regular seating position. If a lighter person sat in the seat, it would work fine. I decided to try and diagnose the problem, which I think is the under seat controller box. It handles all of the power seat functions. By wiggling each of the different cables and connectors. Now it's no longer working with anyone sitting in the chair. It's also possible that years of driving has taken it's toll on the connectors. I noticed that if put hand pressure on the seat, the controller box physically moves a few millimeters down. Has anyone seen this issue before? Any reason to go to the dealer to swap it. I read that a new controller, even a used one, requires coding to be accepted. |
