PROcede V2 wireless bluetooth remote access - Group Buy
Hi,
I did a lot of R&D to achieve a PROcede wireless bluetooth remote access solution. To keep it short, it works without any problems with V1 in my car. However, I have to wait for V2 to finalize the concept how it is installed in the ECU box. Now, knowing that V2 will be connected to switched power, this will offer a very easy installation. With PROcede V2, we have all those pretty power curves and settings to play with. The wireless bluetooth remote access makes that convenient to tweak. The kit consists of: - 2 Sena Parani SD-100 ( 1 in the ECU Box, 1 on your laptop ) - 1 PROcede Data Cable - Power cables for car and laptop - Everything configured to connect at power-on and to work with the PROcede - Installation parts and manual US$350 plus shipping is the price for a PROcede wireless plug and play kit. The components are certified for industrial / automotive use. In advance of any payment ( PayPal or direct wire ) I will implement the solution with PROcede V2 and test it properly. If I will not be 100% satisfied the payment and the delivery will be postponed until the issues are solved ( which would be a very inconvenient scenario ). This will be installed in the ECU box: SD-100 with data cable, power cable not shown in the picture ![]() Precondition is an installed PROcede V2. Power for the device in the car will be supplied directly from the PROcede harness and it will be connected with a data cable to the PROcede’s serial interface. This configuration will imply the removal of the wireless access when you decide to remove the PROcede for some reason. Power for the device on the laptop will be provided from an unused USB port. Even when your laptop would have already a Bluetooth interface you will need the full kit. The notebook can connect to the Parani SD-100 but the PROcede Reader Software is not able to open the virtual serial Bluetooth COM port. There are other reasons as well why I would not prefer such a solution. I configure the 2 Paranis to act as a physical cable, they don't accept any requests or connections from other devices. This approach is more costly than others, but it guarantees that no other device will be able to detect or corrupt the rugged data communications. The devices will autoconnect at power-on, so if you did not use the connection e.g. for a couple of months all you have to do is to power on the Parani on the laptop side and you will be connected, even when you would have changed the laptop in the meantime. The bluetooth system will be transparent to your computer since the bluetooth adapters will act as an invisible cable. It works on PC’s and Mac’s using a Windows emulation ( e.g. Parallels or Virtual PC ). The downside of the wireless bluetooth remote access is the speed of the connection. Due to the serial - bluetooth - serial bridging you will have timing delays between the data packets. These are already minimized in my configuration provided. This means that the wireless access will be perfect for everything ( map & firmware uploads, user settings, ... ) except data-logging ( the limited connection-speed might not provide the data logging quality you want to achieve ). The Group Buy will end on October 6th, 2007. All customers will then be charged and will receive their kits within max. 4 weeks ( first come, first serve ). Please come back to me if you have any questions.
