Front plate placement.

Hi all.. I am picking up my plates today and I was wondering if any of you have your plates mounted somewhere other than right smack in the middle of the bumper. I begged my dealer not to drill holes there because I wasn't planning on running a front plate at all.. but since a few of my friends have gotten "no front plate" tickets recently, I want to have a backup plan. Do any of you have custom brackets that don't require drilling? Any info is appreciated.

Frogman did this....I have a similar set up, but not the commercial one posted here. I had a custom fabricated one...just some pieces bent into position. Works like a charm. For meets etc...just remove 2 screws underneath...takes like 3 min and I am all nice and clean. When ready to leave...3 min and its back on...ready to roll.

There's a bracket somewhere on there that mounts a bit to the side, I think it utilizes existing holes.

Anyone know Ohio penalties for no front plate? I've been searching the net with no luck.

I'm not sure if they can pull you over for it, or if they can only add it on if pulling you over for other things.

I also don't know if it's a moving violation, i.e. points on your license.

Finally, I don't know how many $$$$$'s

I located my front plate in the trunk. If I get flack, my holder is backordered through BMW. CA will give me paper to that effect.

I've been running my Titan with no front plate for 2.5 years, no problems. I hope I'm no jinxing myself!

It's a registration violation per the ORC SS 4503.12. No points, fines vary by jurisdiction. Looked at one county and one township, fines ran about $60 + costs of about $25.

So I'm buying the delete front license plate mod for $85(x) where "x" is the probability of getting fined. A bargain :rocks:

oh....and what/who is "CA"? (CA will give me papers....)

CA = Customer Advisor, or something like that. It's your salesperson at BMW.

I'm from New Jersey, but I live in Bethlehem, PA at school. In PA, do I need to show my NJ front plate?

I know that in NJ I do, but if I don't need to in PA, I want to make sure I dont get holes/mounting frame installed.

I don't know how PA could enforce an NJ law. I really doubt they'd care, or even be looking for it. They'd be accustomed to seeing single rear plate, right?

$60 could add up.. I might just make a bracket like the one above.. that drills from underneath.

thanks for the info

gominigo.com no holes plate.

I got the tow hitch front plate mount from gominigo.com for the 3 series. Fits my E92 nicely. The spacing to the bumper looks good. Sorry don't know how to post photos.
