My build with a couple questions for tuners.

I am from the USA and am stationed here in England with my 2009 335i (N54). I am currently having it shipped here and have already purchased everything I need for it:

Cobb AccessPort Tuner
ETS Intake
ETS Front Mount Intercooler
ETS Chargepipe with Synapse Diverter Valve
ETS Catback Exhaust
BMS Catless Downpipes
BMS Oil Catch Can
BMS Methanol kit

None of these parts are installed and to be honest, I've never worked with on a BMW. I actually just bought the car last month and I've always been more of an American Muscle kind of guy. I am going to try and do the build myself minus the meth kit. This is where my question comes in, does anyone know of a really good tuner place that can install meth kit and also dyno tune my car? Also, where can I buy this Methanol that I need? I live in Suffolk, near Newmarket and I'm willing to drive a bit for quality service. Please let me know!!

Sounds like you got a nice list of mods!

How much did that set you back getting the car shipped over here?

Will you need to register it here?

Welcome to the UK - you have lots of sunny weather to look forward to!

Simple DIY Tasks:

Cobb AccessPort Tuner
ETS Intake
ETS Front Mount Intercooler
ETS Chargepipe with Synapse Diverter Valve
BMS Oil Catch Can
BMS Methanol kit (Methanol not methane!)

Anyone with a lift should be able to do:
ETS Catback Exhaust
BMS Catless Downpipes

Is the Meth kit a WW or a trunk mount kit? As you have a cobb accessport tuner you dont need a dyno tune - you just use a more aggressive map. Alternatively you could contact ProTuningFreaks to do a bespoke map remotely. How are you going to run the meth kit without a JB4?

Well since I'm in the military it was shipped for free. The mods I got all at discounted prices and only cost me 5,000 USD or 3250 pounds. I worked with Chris at shop.XTRPerfomance.com on the chat thing. He is very smart when it comes to cars and discounted all my parts and even threw in free shipping. I will have to register it here yes, but I won't pay british tax on it till a year after it gets here.

I'm quite embarrassed, I knew it was methanol, I just don't know why I kept writing that. My bad. I do plan on doing all of it and the BMS Meth kit is a 2.2 gallon trunk mounted system. I will get a pro tune so I can run meth.

I have lived in the UK for almost 2 years, but went home to the USA and decided to get a BMW. I can't wait to take it to Scotland or Wales and take it through the hills.

We also have a lift on base. I thought the exhaust had to be welded in though, guess we'll see.

If its "cat back" it should bolt onto the downpipes.

I'm looking at a Trunk mounted setup myself - I currently have a WW Kit..

I had Methanol delivered in 20L drums by Bonnymans - Its not cheap but it'll do.

I found someone selling 100litres on ebay and bought it all for £30!! Will last me 5 years or so!

Damn! I guess it's really not that expensive. I didn't think they would ship methanol anywhere via mail because it is a liquid? How fast do you burn through your meth?

Welcome!

If you fancy coming down to London, There are several tuners that could install that mod list for you. BW chiptune being one of many (based in Hayes)...

It sounds crazy to ship the car over here but one of the benefits of being in the military by the sounds of it.

Similarly re meets, there are a bunch of meets planned. There will be the northern meet (2-3 hours drive North from where you are stationed) in July or August, and a Cotswolds meet (a bit further, southwest. Maybe 3-4 horus drive) which are big site wide meets. Then little bits and pieces beyond that...

YEAH! my friends take their bikes out there and tell me I should bring the bimmer up there just to try driving on a track. I think I may want to upgrade my sway bars first and potentially tires. Honestly the car is stock minus the performance and it looks bone stock too. I will get some people together and let you know for sure.

I think I would like to go to a meet, but I feel like I would be out of place driving a bone stock looking 335i. I am definitely going to give a look into BW Chiptune though. I appreciate the info.
