removing / fitting gearknob 335i

I've got a replacement bmw gearknob for my 335i, how do I get the old one off / fit new one?

The item I have is a metal 6 speed knob, no gaiter.

If yours is the standard Silver SE gearknob, just put it in 2nd and Pull up hard.

If its the M-Sport shifter, I believe this is fixed to the Gaiter so you would need to source a replacement.
