OEM suspension vs. M Sport Suspension

What are the differences? As far as height? And Drive? Could a M sport suspension from a 335i 2010 coupe Fit a 2007 328i coupe? I may be getting it for a good price so I'm currently considering... Thanks in advance

Best thing to do when in doubt is to look up the suspension part numbers in realoem (dot) com. Look up the suspension part number using your vin number and compare it to a new model.

A little lower and a little firmer is the answer. With RFTs some feel the MSport kit makes the ride too firm.

And they're both OEM of course...

Too firm? Meh, I think it's a great comfortable street suspension.

Maybe I just am too used to driving my old VWs which I always immediately installed H&R springs w/ Koni Yellows as soon as something suspension related needed attention

to the OP... I see that Phil325 is from the UK. As I understand it, the US M-sport is the European/UK 'sport' suspension. In Europe/UK, the order is Base<sport<M-sport, whereas in the US it is Base<Sport and to get the European M-sport, you have to go to the (aftermarket) BMW 'Performance Suspension'.

When Phil325 says that some find it too stiff, I think he is referring to the equivalent of the BMW Performance Suspension.

I have sport suspension with non-rft. Yes it is too firm for me at times especially after 5 years driving it and one day drove the wife MDX lol

McPherson make the 335i suspension. I would suggest finding out if there the same?? But we're talking about 2 diff cars hear...dimensions, curb weight etc all come into play. I suggest you ask a pro BMW mechanic just in case

ALL 335i's come with the same suspension. Sport pkg is cosmetic. Regarding us vs uk. That's something I cannot answer.

That's not entirely correct, as far as I know. I believe Sport package and M-sport package share a more aggressive suspension than the base vehicle.

Well, as far as I know at least in the US all E92s have the M-sport suspension. E90s may have standard or M-sport depending on how the car was optioned. I have heard before that M-sport does not mean the same thing in the US or Europe but I can't confirm or deny.

Correrct. My 335i was imported from the US. It has the sports steering wheel, and MSports pgk.

In the US, there is no M-sport suspension, the M-sport package was purely cosmetic. There is only Sport suspension on the coupes. So it does not matter if you are non-sport package (ZSP). When you add the ZSP package, you get bumped to the 18" wheel combo and raised speed limiter (plus the other goodies that come with ZSP).

This is for RWD models, XI I *think* is a different story.

So no, going to sport (again, no M-sport) suspension will not do anything for you. What you need to do to upgrade is go BMW Performance suspension or go aftermarket.
