HPFP 335i

Hello I spoke to Cotswold BMW yesterday about other issues with my car and thought I would mention about the HPFP issue! I asked them am I covered under warranty if it does fail as I have read that BMW extended the warranty to 10 years or 120k miles I was told a definate no! there had been no recall on it and you only get your standard warranty from new, is that true???

Most dealers are full of s&*t! If you have an BMW warranty I can't see why this wouldn't be covered and plenty of people on these forums have had hpfp's replaced. If you are really strong willed you could probably get it done under goodwill without a warranty. That would require a lot of painful phone calls and letters though!

Of course it's covered under warranty, just like any other component that fails. Why wouldn't it be?

I think it was only the US who had a recall then an extended warranty on their fuel pumps.

Their fuel isn't as good as ours and there is a direct link to that and the amount of failures they get.

What about with out warranty? I assume BMW UK will contribute to parts cost and you pay labour?

So much incorrect information here!

In the UK the HPFP is only covered by the 3yr manufacturer warranty. If you dont have an extended warranty you will not be covered.

You are very unlikely to get Goodwill on any car with 100,000 miles.

I've done 40,000 miles in my car (100,000 miles total) - no problems with the HPFP. The HPFP problem is now fixed, there are very few failures now by comparison to early repeated failures...
