Wear Tires
Hey guys,
Im going to be buying used wheels and tires from a private seller and the seller told me the tires have 60-50% left on tread. The tires size are 235-35-19 and 265-30-19. The front gets used up more then the rear. With the front more worn out, does this effect the rolling diameter/ AWD system? |

It should be okay. A 235/35, 265/30 setup works nicely with xi cars, with the difference between the front and rear diameters being ~0.85% (less than 1%, within spec). In this case it is the front tires that are marginally larger in diameter (25.47638", vs the rears which are 25.25984" - extremely small difference). With the front tire tread being more worn down than the rear, theoretically I think this would actually reduce the rolling diameter difference, which is good lol.
It sounds like it's almost time to replace the rubber anyway though, and when that time comes I recommend 235/35, 275/30 for the new set in the future if you're still running those wheels. Best of luck. |
