Bagram cargo 747 crash
Video from a car dash cam posted online. (The date on the camera is set incorrectly. The crash happened on April 29, 2013, i.e. two days ago)
Looks like an ordinary stall. Overloaded? Last edited by AndreyT; 05-01-2013 at 12:35 PM.. |

(Considering that that other thread already took off in some weird direction...)
Statements from the airline http://www.nationalaircargo.com/info...ht_NCR102.aspx Apparently, Bagram air base was an intermediate stop for refueling on a Camp Bastian -> Dubai flight. All cargo was loaded and secured at Camp Bastian. The take off at Camp Bastian went without an incident. No cargo was added or unloaded at Bagram. The cargo was re-inspected at Bagram. That, of course, does not completely preclude the possibility of some heavy piece of equipment getting loose, but nevertheless it doesn't look like a case of some mindless "let's throw all these APCs into the cargo bay and call it a day" recklessness. |
