$245 Oil Change

I thought my car had 80,000km free maintenance until today. I was informed that BMW will only cover one no charge oil change per year. My car has 66,000km on it.

Does this smell like a crock of shit or what?

thats bs, as long as your car reached the milage mark on the computer your oil change is free

and theres no way it should cost 240 dollars either

Has nothing to do with "guts" but more to to with believing people I trusted.

Lesson learned. My guard will be up whenever I go there now.

I'll be going back for a refund........

Yeah but C$ is pretty much equal to US$ today and in Alberta there's only 6% tax.

So the cost was effectivley $225 US$ before any tax. Still high, I had mine changed this am, I'll see when I pick it up what the charge in Calgary is.

Was it Bav or Edm BMW? That is outrageous. Please just do your own oil changes after 80k.

BMW Oil and Filter here in Virginia is $28. Even with an hour of labor, that's ridiculous. BMW bases their free oil changes on the mileage interval as previously mentioned.

1 USD = 1.00587 CAD

or, the other way around...

1 CAD = 0.993907 USD

So for the $105 CAD oil change, it was $104.38 in USD. Several years ago, a Canadian dollar was worth about 84 cents US...(and I used to buy all my hockey stuff from a online store based in Edmonton). I think Jaws' point was there isn't much to worry about these days.
