18x8.5 Square Set up for 08 328xi?
I'm looking to get a new set of rims for my 2008 328xi.
I'm pretty sure I have the sport package. I know I have sport seats, steering wheel, paddle shifters, faster speed....but there is no mention of a sport suspension so I am not sure. Here are the rims I'm considering getting http://www.elementwheels.com/proddet...od=BEY-1885T5B I am also considering these http://www.elementwheels.com/proddet...od=BEY-1985T5B (19x8.5 square set up) What size tires and offsets should I get for my set? Will I need spacers for my back rims or a different size offset for the back rims? Sorry for the beginner questions, this is the first time I'm doing something like this and I don't want to mess my car up! Thanks for any help guys, speedy answers would be appreciated ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by HDub91; 05-05-2013 at 01:15 PM.. |

ET40 will be really sunken in. ET30 is the way to go all round if using 235/40/18. The front will be nicely flush, and has a slight risk of rubbing at full steering lock on bumps depending on the tire brand. If your car is a sedan you could still fit 12mm spacers on the rear, but less on the coupe.

Is it the 8.5 width that will cause the rubbing? Last Questions If I do go staggered, I'm thinking of going http://www.elementwheels.com/proddet...TSW-1895treblk (18x8 front) ET35 on 225/40/18 Toyo Proxes 4 Plus (18x9.5 back) ET35 on 255/35/18 Toyo Proxes 4 Plus Should I use any spacers for the rear wheels in with this setup? The rims on the rear also have an offset of 20mm available but I thought for e90s the offset is supposed to be 30-40 That setup seemed very close to the staggered setup up offered straight from BMW so I was actually leaning toward that right now. Plus I think the all black rim with the 2" lip in the back will look nice with the Alpine white paint job. |

I think that should work too. I'm not 100% sure about ET20 though. I've seen people do it but I can't remember if they had 255 or 265

too bad the 255 would stretch, that would be -0.236%.
The 235/35/18 with 265/40/18 setup is -0.389%. Still good though. Thanks for all the help guys, I think i'll get the ET 35 all the way around to keep it safe. |

Also in regard to the Toyo Proxes 4 Plus' (255/35/18) stretching with the 18x9.5 rears...
Unfortunately the Toyo Proxes 4 Plus' aren't made in 265/35/18 but they seemed like one of the better all-season tires I was able to find. Can anyone recommend me some good All season tires? I was considering the General A-Max AS-03's but didn't think General has as good of a reputation as Toyo. Thanks again Last edited by HDub91; 05-06-2013 at 02:23 PM.. |

They would fit fine. See the link below for tire/wheel specs. Some would recommend going ET35 on both and use 5 to 8mm spacers front and back if you want a more aggressive look.

I hope you meant 235/40 Front and 265/35 Rear because the sizes you quoted would not work. See the link below to make sure. Quote:

Just got rear-ended at a red light
![]() Car wouldn't start, and it looked like there was a airbag malfunction, so the rims will have to wait a week or two. I was literally on my way home to order them TODAY. |

That's no good!
On an AWD we've done this setup before, quite a few times. ET35/ET33 in your case, OP.

With the car already in the shop, I guess it is a good time to get those windows tinted though! |

The wheels have been ordered! I ended up going with conti dws and got them to give me a price match, along with $200+ worth of free add ons. The wheels should be here in 10-14 days.
Also I talked to body shop today and they said my car should be ready in 10-14 days as well, so things are lined up perfectly! I'll upload pics right after installation. |
