Recently I noticed my PSF was a little low and brownish green. When I turn the steering wheel either direction (till it locks) I get a noise when the motor is running and cold. Unfortunately the green sticker that was previously on the PS cap has fallen off and I'm not sure which fluid I should purchase for the fill or flush. I have a 2007 E92 with a 8/06 build date.
The 2 factory options are:
1) Dexron iii
2) 11s

The dealership said they were unable to look up the fluid from the vin or build date. The strange thing is that the cap says ATF only. Unfortunately I've read BMW uses the same cap regardless of what is recommended.

You need the 11s. Napa auto parts has it locally usually.

yup, 11S, the noise will go away once its full.

Oh, and 08/06?? Wow, that must be one of the first ones in the states, mine is a 10/06 build.

Really? I can't find it anywhere but Napa but I don't live in Cali. You guys have all of the automotive luck!

I also can usually only find it at Napa or the dealer...btw, they both sell it for around the same price.

Unfortunately I found this after buying a bottle at a Las Vegas, NV dealership for my wife's car at a whopping $40 or so dollars.

EDIT- I searched up Jackson, MS Zip and picked one. I used it on the O'Reilly website and chose the first store. Searched CHF 11s and it says $22.99, and available within 24 hrs. Funny, but it's a dollar more than here....

At first I was actually pretty surprised that they didn't have it because they carry some of the more obscure items but now I see, looks like they don't have it in-store but you can have it shipped there from the supplier, cool! They are fast about getting the shipments too.
