Arrow Vishnu V2 Installation

I am interested in buying a V2 Procede but have some questions before i do so.
1. How risky is it on the whole warranty thing, I already purchased the extended 6 year 100,000 thousand mile one.
2. How does is affect engine "life", plan on keeping my car for 5+ years.
3. I know its quite simple to install procede myself but Is there any place were I could get it professionally installed since i really dont trust myself.

Tahnks for all your help

i think it will be fine for 100k and more, providing the oil and filer is changed more regulary than what the dealer would suggest!

Fears of potential wear and tear issues from having so much more power over stock, especially the boost on these small turbos. my guess anyways

Who really cares about the damage on the car, all you do is remove the procede and take your car to BMW and get anything fixed under warranty, they will never know anything so dont stress. . .These cars and built to handle a lot more punishment anyway and even if something breaks BMW will have to replace under warranty as the procede is undetectable.

The great thing of V2 will be that you can design your own torque curve. For me it means I will eliminate the huge torque peak between 2.500 to 3.500 rpm and keep boost in general below 14psi with the stock turbos. Once somebody will upgrade them this might change. I hope V2 will come soon. IMHO, the PROcede is seriously the best engine performance tuning solution currently available.

Vishnu had a great take-off with their PROcede. Sometimes it seems to me they do everything now to damage their hard work result, their good reputation. BMW customers might expect different behavior, at least I do. I hope this will change soon again, but that is a different story.

This is probably true for the near term since there's insufficient statistical evidence for them to determine normal use as opposed to modified use.

However, since these mods are so cheap and becoming more popular, more and more will likely fail and that is a cause for concern for BMW. Since this is a newly developed engine, BMW will pay to have the first of these shipped to Germany for inspection, and the evidence of running conditions will be there.

Ultimately, this cost to the company may be enough to warrant new measures to detect modifications to ECU parameters. i.e. special signaling between sensor and ECU and/or a way to fingerprint normal and abnormal responses to ECU control.

I do. Even if it will be repaired in case of a damage other components will wear faster as well and don't break immediately or under warranty. That's why I always will have an extra safety margin and don't use the PROcede's full potential.

I think I will keep this car and buy a second one, if I will feel the need for it. Landrover Defender or similar ... This e93 335i is really a great car.

Doesn't work that way. Any modification has to be shown to cause the failure related to the warranty claim before claim can be refused. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66970

Yeah and if you can take it off before you claim for warranty, I don't know how in the world they can prove you had modifications. Unless I guess tell them about how badazz your V2 is or something

You can do a lot to tune the 335i in a safe way. It will not be "the best bang for the buck" but it will very reliable. If you want to race you have the wrong car. A tuned Mitsubishi or Subaru would be better for racing. The M3 as well, you even won't need the new one. A pre-owned e46 M3 CSL where you removed any unnecessary weight will go a great job ...

Also, from BMW's warranty statement:
"This warranty shall be null and void if the vehicle identification number has been altered or cannot be read, if the odometer has been replaced or altered and the true mileage cannot be determined, if the vehicle has been declared a total loss or sold for salvage purposes, or if the vehicle has been used in any competitive event."

So it seems that if it's drag raced, road raced, auto-crossed, etc they can, technically, legally deny your warranty.

Theoretical, yes. BMW will have very limited possibilities to tell you raced. In the e46 M3 SMG II they counted how often U used the SMG II launch-control program. If you did it more than 10 times you had to pay the clutch by yourself. IMHO, understandable .

Install it yourself so you can understand the setup. You may need to uninstall it someday and it would be nice not to be dependent on others.

there will be minimal extra wear and tear, not much, i could see a proceed 335i going from 0 miles to 150k (miles not KM) easy without any issues

only worry would be if the AFR went haywire and leaned off juice to a piston and then the inevitable melt

Bet your the same guy who bitches and moans because you're missing an oil cooler and or a million other things. When BMW doesn't do exactly what you want, you're getting fucked, but if you tamper with your car and that fucks it up you have no problem FUCKING BMW AND YOUR DEALER.

TO EVERYONE MODDING THEIR CARS: be a man and take responsibility for it if that is what fucks up your car.

God I would LOVE to see an enginge blow up and see some dude try to claim warranty and the dealer says "take me to court", they take them to court, and they get beat. So they lose out on 15k+ for a motor AND LEGAL expenses.
