Looking for a muffler delete in Charlotte NC

Ive been driving around charlotte looking for someone to do a muffler delete. Ive gotten price ranges from $80-$700. I havent found anyone that I want to trust my car to. Anyone got any shop suggestions? or does anyone sell a muffler delete section that I would be able to just get welded to my car?

whoa $700?

I doubt it should be more than $100 with everything included may increase depending on tips or if you get your own may increase overall price. What exactly are you looking for anyway after the delete?

im looking for some single walled 3" tips. Everywhere I went they want to do two 90 degree bends and want to use the cheap piping.

WTF? that doesn't sound like no muffler delete. How hard is it for a muffler shop to chop off the muffler put new piping and weld on new tips? it should only cost $60 to muffler delete and depending on the tips you want it should be no more than $200 total.

all the shops I talked to buy the bends and the material for a stainless steel will cost me near 200$ according to several shops. Heres what one company emailed me:

"I would start by just doing a muffler delete on the car. A straight pipe will generally be raspy, create cabin drone on the highway, and be extremely loud. The straight 6 in your BMW has a good tone, but some of that tone comes with the tuning of the exhaust system such as resonators and mufflers.
To do the rear muffler delete it would cost $698.95 including mandrel bent 2.5" 304SS and a polished exhaust tip featuring a rolled edge for a high end look.
Let me know if I can help with any other information!
Thanks,"

That email you provided sounds like a custom straight pipe exhaust that will need the old exhaust pipings to be removed and unbolted from the headers then making a new whole complete piping setup, of course that will range from $400-600.

Goodluck with the find though, it's not hard to find a muffler shop just to get a muffler delete done.

I asked for a price for a full straight pipe but he suggested a muffler delete and it would cost almost 700 for a delete.

Eurowise?... they are so busy they can justify higher prices. I had them weld in two new hangers and adjust my AA cat back to fit better cost me $100 but they did it right. Also had them do full coil over suspension an they replaced my engine... long story. Craig their BMW guy is great. I would be tempted to try euro envy in concord they are a new shop but I went to their grand opening and they had a nice setup. For dirt cheap you could get someone to cut out the muffler and do straight pipes to see how it sounds. I personally love my AA cat back with catless DPS. Plenty of sound little rasp no drone. Happy to meet up so you can here it. Opps just noticed this is old...

2nd'd.. but i'm biased, I used to work there Keith, the welder does amazing work. You can also look at the rogue ikon system:

Personally I hate muffler deletes on NA cars. I had one done on my e46 and reverted back to stock the very next morning.

With any muffler delete drone is expected.. drone is worst at lower RPM's but once the engine is up to speed it's non existant. I also drive with windows up and radio on which helps
