Finally installed my aero lip - DIY - Picture heavy
I've had the lip sitting around for over a month and finally got to install it. Pics of before/after below as well as the steps I went thru to install the lip... It took me about an hour really taking my time, and snapping pictures. It can probably be done in 30 to 45min easy
Cost of the setup: - $75 for the lip off eBay purchased off user d1performance - $100 for the paint supplies - 2 packs of cigarettes for the guy at my job to paint the lip - $6 for the double sided tape from Lowe's Tools used: - 8mm wrench - 8mm socket + ratchet - windex - double sided tape - box cutter 1) Lift up the car for easier access to the screw below the bumper... I just drove it on a couple of 2x4 to have enough room to work with.... 2) Depending on the bumper lip you bought, remove all or some of the bolts holding the bottom of the bumper. In my case, I removed all the bolts and only 2 of them lined up while re-assembling (the two at each end of the bumper) 3) Put some double sided tape on the inside of the bumper. I randomly decided to put some at 4 spots. Now I wish I used some more... 4) Squirt some Windex on the double sided tape you just put inside the lip and on the areas on the bumper where the tape will stick. This allows you to wiggle the lip around until you have it exactly where you want it to be. 5) Snap the lip in place and let the windex dry so the double sided tape can stick before putting the bolts back, otherwise the bolts will pull the top of the bumper out. 6)Put the bolts back. 7) Enjoy the new look... Fitment is alright but not perfect, as you can see in the pics below... 8) Go snap a pretty picture of your ride... Now time to go paint that mesh grill... Looks great! Thanks so much for all the different angle pics! I've been mulling over this mod for quite awhile and could never really get a handle on how the fitment would play out. On the darker colors it's pretty understated, but on tiags the lines are much more prominent. Would you say that the upper portion (

I think that's the main portion I'm iffy on.. As for waxing, I've always been under the impression that a month is proper cure time. Not an expert haha. |

I think if I put more tape in the 4 spots highlighted on step 3, the upper part wouldn't stick out as much. Right now I can push it in by hand. I'll upload a video later showing how far it can be pushed in.
The area by the wheel well really doesn't bother me at all. I know some dont like it and go for an m-tech bumper... |

If fitment is fine, then 3M tape isn't necessary. I'd just put some in there just in case, so it doesn't move at the top.

They're actually located like 15 minutes away from my work. I'm hoping they allow me to meet up and test fit it prior to buying. Seems like there are tons of these $70-80 rep PU lips on ebay and all around the same area.
This seller has sold 44 of the lips. http://www.ebay.com/itm/390586838242...84.m1423.l2649 I'll update you guys and probably start a thread of my own once i order...

Just a quick question, these go over the OEM non-m-sport bumper right?

Nice install...Im wondering about the middle sections and you pushing them in. Do you think if you removed the mesh grill you could push them in more? Are the grills stopping it from flushing up? Im wondering if with a little trimming if the lip would fit just a little better in that section

Awesome. Just wondering because on all the lips ebay listings, they do not call them aero lips. They call them m-sport reps so I just wanted to make sure before I decide to buy.
