e90 LCI 330d power output - standard?

Guys,

I follow P-torque on Facebook and they had a 330d in and took it to 320 bhp.

When quizzed on the output (which seems high!) the guy from P-torque said that these cars push out 265 to 270 as standard! Can anyone else confirm that this is right?!

I quite like the idea that I may be running that much!

They are 245bhp standard but this maybe a conservative figure.

The superchips dyno also shows that it has more power as standard, http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/BMW30d245ps.pdf

If its true, makes you realise why the 0-60 is near as identical to the 335d. Although I can't see it being as high as that - 20-25bhp more? Seems optimistic.

Technically is 245PS or 242bhp.

Interestly as a comparison, their graph for the 335d is spot on stock as near as damn it. maybe their 330d graph is accurate http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/B...5d%20286ps.pdf

The rolling are over reading... By 20-30HP.. Which would bring it back down to 240-250 standard and 290-300 mapped.

Fair enough DXB, so those stock 335d figures of 284bhp are not accurate then on their own graphs either on the link I posted up? That makes the 335d 264-274bhp by your reckoning.

That is also my experience.

My 330d LCI was measured at 252.6 hp without a tune and 307.5 hp with a tune. See here:

Superchips rolling roaded my Golf GTi Edition 30 at 229bhp standard when it was supposed to be 230ps.

They rolling roaded my 320d at 177bhp when it was supposed to be 177ps.

I guess they can't be that wrong on the 'before' figures !!

I would take my 330d LCI there to have it checked ... but would end up getting their remap

I posted this link in post 5:

http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/B...5d%20286ps.pdf

Shows their own graph of a standard 335d at 284bhp. Yet their other own graph of a standard 330d LCI is 264bhp:

http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/BMW30d245ps.pdf

I think the point is, why does it show a 335d as near as damn is standard bhp but the 330d is quite a bit over? If their 335d was 20bhp over standard then you could say their dyno is well out, but...its not over.

I'm not that bothered as its how the car drives on the road thats important not headline bhp figures....

Mine was 178bhp standard on the P-Torque dyno.

The quoted final figure of 221bhp. It's faster, couldn't say if it truly is 25% faster, but not far off.

I think on some models they do under-quote the power. Got to keep people paying that premium for the higher engine.
