I need to know what the best way to remove some scratches caused by my dog is.. Basically, we were at a friends house and they have a massive German shepherd and I have a smaller female German shorthaired pointer (scratching a bmw... The Germanic irony) and so she is big enough to screw my paint up but small enough to be scared by the big shepherd. And so she freaked and literally tried to scratch her way back into my car.

Some are pretty deep and need wet sanding but some may polish. I just don't know what to do. They're all caused by fingernails but those fingernails had gravel dust and rocks in them.

Find yourself a good detailer and have him just concentrate on the affected area. Just make sure it's a good detailer, not some Craigslist hack.

can your fingernails catch the scratches? if they can, they are most likely too deep to repair back to perfection. the only thing any skilled detailer can do is make it less noticeable

All but very few are paint scratches, the rest are on the surface or just into the clear. Im gonna polish them out.
