Post Pre-LCI Halogen to Custom Depo P90 V2 Xenon Swap

Just finished up this swap and I'm extremely pleased with the outcome. I wanted to upgrade to xenons and angel eyes while retaining the OEM look and doing it as plug and play as possible. This won't be a full write up but more of what the process looked like. Feel free to ask away if you have any questions.

I picked up these Depo P90 V2's on eBay. I opened them up and installed the 240 UHP LED AE's, painted the reflectors orange (Testors "Firey Orange" from the model cars area of Michaels), AND I modified the crap cutoff beam that these are all too known for.

The photoshop mock-up:

The paint...

The reflector (stock black):

The reflector (in process):

The projector cut off plate with heavy duty aluminum cut to fit and adhered using high temperature cement:

The other side of the cut off plate. It looks 100x cleaner and no more crappy holes for the light to leak thru:

The headlight put back together:

And finally installed...

Thanks. It's all personal preference. With my profession I need to keep it as OEM looking as possible. I did a bunch of photoshop mockups of different colored reflectors but no other color looked right to me.

black bottom half and silver/white(like LCI) top half of the reflector? that would have looked cool, but it still looks great!

I thought about that. The lines are a little different between the two.

What do you mean by your profession? Could have done it up Euro style and that's still factory look-ish.

Agreed, I looked into those as well. Again it's just a personal preference. Some dudes love the cleared corner look, but personally (and I felt this way when I had my B5 A4 years ago) I like the color contrast on the front of the car.

Part of this project was to just try something new. I hadnt seen anyone modify their Depos like this before, I like the LED turn signals and can't stand the clearing/translucent orange reflector on the pre-LCI's, so this was a good blend.

One observation since the swap: I drove the car with these for the first time tonight and these angel eyes are INCREDIBLY bright. Almost to the point that they may light the road better than the stock fog lights. I'm curious if there is a way to turn down the power on the AE's. I love'em but sweet mother are they bright!

looks great but the painted reflector should have just stayed clear. Lights are lights and your "profession" doesnt matter. Most people have no idea things change on cars if you keep it clean. And LCI lights are all white, so it would have just looked newer if anything.

On the Depo's P90's the "reflectors" come painted matte black. When installed on an already dark Sparkling Graphite Metallic paint color, it ended up making the car look pretty murdered out. Not really the vibe I was going for, hence the change.
