My Fast and Furious 6 Experience - no spoilers ;)
So when I spotted the flyer on a local FB group I sent a few good pics of my car and thought what the hell ... That Friday the day before shooting I thought never mind, until I got the call from Daragh at Garage-D.
The next day we we’re told to come to an undisclosed location which turned out to be Battersea Power Station. Touring ready! So we found out from the Garage D organisers that they had over 400 replies within the first 2 days. Out of those 400 30 were selected to come down to Battersea. Of those 30, 8 were chosen for the static scene. Mine was number 8 whoop whoop! We convoyed down to the Treasury which is the next road to Downing Street right by Parliament so as you can imagine the security was tight. The first night of filming saw Letty winning a Spyker and Dom driving into the Treasury. There were 120 girls and 20 blokes being used as extras which was the only real “party” scene in the movie. It was a freezing November night and a few girls flaked out (not surpised – they weren’t wearing much). Sorry about the picture quality we weren’t allowed to take any pics but a few of the crew did. We havne’t posted up before the movie but thought it should be ok to generate some movie buzz after the release Dom’s heavily modified Dodge Daytona looked amazing in the flesh and sounded incredible You can just about see Letty’s Jensen Interceptor behind the GTR The following night of filming saw the sequence between Dom and Letty speaking at the start of the race Here are a few covert pics of them standing around So I saw the movie on the night of release in the UK and it is full of action. Obviously don’t expect Gandhi drama but it was good. Sadly the car didn’t make it into the film but the scene was really short. The highlight was saying hello to Vin Diesel and shaking his hand and inadvertently speaking too Justin Lin at the start of the first night. He was surprised my car was a wagon lol but came over to see the engine bay which he approved of Michelle Rodrigues was wandering about too and by the end of the second night they were so relaxed amongst the crew we just stood with them as Justin Lin did his thing. Sung Kang was there and I managed to say hi too. So overall an amazing experience and I have to say thanks to Julian and Daragh at Garage-D for the incredible opportunity. Yikes, Lucky you bruv. proper jealous.
I would have loved to be there, even without my car. Must have been a amazing experience. I have been a massive fan of this since the first one came out in 2001. i was in secondary school, was buzzing when i saw it. The Daytona is damn nice. Still need to go and see the film, will be going sometime this week. |

I saw the film at the weekend, pretty good film.
I like a 'lad' movie, this one actually had some comedy and a story line. Very well done. Although some of the scenes did get a bit silly with the stunts, but non the less the movie is a bit of fun. Cool claim to fame!!

Wow lucky guy, not bad film but going on past experience weird how after a 10 min plus race across city center all that dom and letty had on their tail was 2 astras.
Not mention the space to actually get up to speed In that much time you would have half of city met on you and a helicopter. Ahh the joys of movie magic. Still a good film and the ending was a surprise not sure how that will read with the new face considering his history. The double team towards the end was a great laugh as well. Good Sat evening movie

Equally strange was the way Hobbs' 3+ tonne Hummvee had no problem keeping up with the street racers in the London scenes
