Does BMW Assist mean car has bluetooth
Hey guys, looking into buying a 06 325xi. The listing doesn't say bluetooth anywhere but I've noticed many don't and they really do.
But car does have BMW Assist so does that mean it will also have bluetooth? Found a few forum posts saying you have to get assist with bluetooth but wanted to make sure that the SOS button is part of the bluetooth. Thanks |

Nope, see if there is a phone button on the steering wheel, that would be a good indicator!

From my experience, every BMW has the phone button on the steering wheel whether there's bluetooth or not. Don't know about the BMW assist = bluetooth though.
Find out where the bluetooth module is normally installed on a 3 series and check. On my old Z4 it was located in the trunk; I went there to look for it on the car I bought; it wasn't there = no bluetooth. |

Can't say for certain about a 2006 model but if the car has the premium package (sunroof, leather, power seats, power folding mirrors and others) it has bluetooth and BMW Assist. In later years for sure, non premium package cars ordered with the BMW Assist option have bluetooth. That is the case with my 2011 E90.

For 2007, assist was packaged with bluetooth (I know this as that was how I ordered my car and this was what I concluded back then)
I'd believe that 2006 would be the same. |

In this, it states both are optional / premium package:

Get the owner's manual and try to pair your phone with it. You'll know for sure that way.
For the most part, I believe Bluetooth came with the car if it also had BMW Assist, but that's on my car, and it's an 07. I believe in '06, it was possible to buy a 3er without Bluetooth. BTW, by saying it has BMW Assist, are you saying the car's owner has been paying to keep BMW Assist active after the initial 4 year period of free BMW Assist?

They all have phone buttons on the steering wheel, so be careful! If you HOLD the phone button down on the steering wheel and a bluetooth message comes up, then it has BT |

Was just about to say this, its on every car. You can do that or try the phone button on the headunit. worst comes to work take the floor of the trunk out and see if the tcu or mulf is there

Thanks guys, went and checked out the car and it did have bluetooth. The steering wheel and console buttons are standard I believe, it didn't even say on spec sheet. Best way was just to go into the settings and find bluetooth.
