High-beam misalignment.
Is there a separate adjustment (internal or not) for the halogen high-beams in the xenon headlight assembly?
I recently had my headlight box open to put in LED angel-eye bulbs and noticed the servo motor for auto leveling was popped out of it's slot. I understand this is not uncommon, but apparently it had been that way for some time and the previous owner must have had it adjusted to compensate rather than pop the ball back in the slot. Gravity was pushing it down and the servo was pushing it up so it all appeared to work. After fixing it right, I had to adjust the main beam down considerably with the external adjustment screw. I thought I was done, but I've noticed that the halogen high-beam on that side is pointing way up. You don't normally notice since the gate in the xenon side raises the HID beam and it outshines the halogen considerably, but when you just pull the stalk back like in flash-to-pass (where the xenons don't change, only the halogen highs come on) it is very noticeable. I can't find any external adjustment except the main, and I'm reluctant to remove the whole front end, wheel liners, etc. just to see if there's an adjustment in there. |
