Bluetooth Retrofit Problem
Whats up everybody,
Im hoping someone can help me out. I have a 2007 e90 with navigation and prewired for bluetooth. Ordered a used MULF unit from EBAY. Picked up a new bt antennae from tischer. I believe i have everything installed correctly. I added $644 to the VO in CAS and NFRM. I recoded CAS, NFRM, and CAPPL with expertmode in NCS expert. I let the car go into sleepmode as well. I can see bluetooth in settings but cant check the bluetooth activation box. I have been researching and trying different things for days? Can anybody help? |

that happened to me, what worked for me was after updating the vo, go back to ncs expert, hit process car, then hit "code car".
it will attempt to code all the modules in the car, when it get to mulf (the bluetooth box in the boot) it will give an error, as thats on the most nextwork. let the car sleep then it should work. that worked for me. |

tried it and it didnt work. It tried to code the mulf and I got an error. Let the car go to sleep and it still didnt work. I am going to redo the fiber optic loop because I have seen conflicting info on how it should be wired.

Means your MOST is broken..
You had BT prep, but did you rewire the MOST cable to be part of the ring? Look here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=392303

So I can see the Mulf unit using inpa, identification, but if def looks like there is a communication issue with the car. see the pic. Anyone know why mulf is missing those fields? and perhaps how I can rectify this.

most of us can't get NCS Expert to talk to MULF2.
since you mentioned you bought the MULF used, you may need to do a reset since the module might still have the previous car's VIN registered to it. try to see if you could use Tool32 to reset the module. the other alternative is to find someone who has a ICOM unit to do the coding for you via the MOST bus. |

ok. just want to close up this thread. I now have bluetooth working. All that was needed in my case - after installing parts and coding - was an SG RESET of the mulf. Someone was able to do this for me with an OBD cable. All good now.
