My Wii Looks like isht
So I buy a brand new Samsung HD 1080p tv...I hook it up to the tv and it looks like isht. So I figure it's the connections/set-up so I buy the component cables and hook it up...still looks like isht. I've changed it to output 480P but it still looks horrible. I know it's a 480P on a 1080P screen...it's real edgy and basically it looks so bad ive stopped playing it...anybody have this problem? Is there anyway to upconvert this signal? Can you even buy an external upconverting box? Have you guys gotten a better output outta it? Any help is appreciated...and for all you smart asses out there, no I'm not buying a new tv

no i dont think you can....my best advice is sit far away.
I have my wii on a 1080p as well and it doesnt look all great...but its ok i suppose....but then again I didn't buy a wii cuz of graphical capabilities.

It uses the same hardware as a gamecube. Your 1080p samsung isn't going to be able to help it very much. I've never been one to believe in upconverting, and the amount of action that takes place in a video game isn't going to lend itself to well done upscaling. My wii looks alot better on my 32" lcd sony xbr than my 52" 1080p xbr 3. Try looking at it on a smaller screen.
Or really, stop comparing it to x360, ps3, blu-ray/hd-dvd.

I figured if there are dvd players that can upconvert normal dvds to a "1080p" signal, there was something out there that could do it for the wii. I guess not?

Look man...the PS3 is bad ass but the wii is a lot of fun-especially if you have a group of ppl. It doesnt take much for a person to learn how to play tennis or boxing on the wii...trying teaching your dad how to play Metal Gear Solid 3....not gonna happen buddy

You cant buy a Wii expecting superior graphics. You buy it because its the most physically involving gaming system.
Im using my Wii on a 61" DLP and while the graphics look antiquated, its a lot of fun. My 360 and PS2 collect dust because the Wii made me enjoy picking up a controller. Just gotta deal with it.

yea shouldve bought a 360....ps3 you be sitting there with your thumb in your ass or just watch a blu-ray movie...games suck for ps3...

the only game i played on my ps2 was GT3 until GT4 came out, and now im just waiting for GT5 to be released in 2008 and then i'll buy a PS3 just to play that game. PS2 on a large DLP or LCD sucks too...
