I have 2 work colleges in Sydney who go to Eastern Creek whenever they get the chance. Ones got an E46 M3 and the other a M6 so I might see when their next outing is and let you know.

Looks like you had a great time.

Don't go bagging the Ferarri - it has sooooo much more cred than the 335 even if it's a tad slow.

Good to see you did not have any codes or anything with the map you are using, V2 will be much better in terms of it's variable torque settings etc.

I should have asked today but did you get the sports suspension on your car? As we noticed yours is way higher than mine, so not sure if dropping in some coil overs will be your cup of tea? Maybe stiffer springs (keeping the height the same) & some better shocks would be the way to go. Of course having the ability to adjust the dampening would be a benefit of something like the Pss9's I have on mine.

Next time I am out your way you can take mine for a spin to see if the coil overs are what your after in terms of improving the handling.

OT but I will be having mine dyno'd after the exhaust is installed once it arrives and then again when I install V2. Will be interesting to see what gains are there. But as you have noticed in your track days raw HP/TQ isn't the end goal when you are wanting to run fast in the twisties.

The coupe has sports suspension as standard but lowering it further might be the go. Improved handling sounds good as long as my teeth don't fall out.

I am really keen to see what gains the exhaust gives you.

i had that concern before i got the 19's and coilovers... the ride is alot firmer now, but it isn't "jarring", it just feels more expensive i guess, and it handles amazingly

If you go coilovers go for KW. They are cheaper and better than the PSS9's anyway and on the non M cars are great(er) bang for your buck. I think the V2's run about $1500 plus about $300 to have them fitted. V3's are a little more expensive and if your going to be doing regular track days you'll probably want to spring for these ones.

As of today - BMW tech's are putting the roof back together. They have had a guy reassembling it for 3 days and they are not finished yet! I have had a look at the car with the roof panels removed and I can say its very scary!!!!

Assuming they finish the job this week, my panel shop will then widen the rear guards and paint the car (both sides and bonnet).

After that, she comes home for good - I hope

I run KW V2's on my M3 as its a daily driver and not a track whore. Although you would only go for V3 if you were really serious about track use and wanted the compression dampining. Its a bit of overkill for a dedicated street car. The V2's are better than the Bilstein PSS9's.

I haven't put anything on the 335, but would more than likely just put another set of V2's on it.

I figure you spent $120k plus on a car. The difference in price between V2 vs V3 is about $600.

Taking 3 days to reassemble the roof is scary!!! I wouldn't want to be paying the hourly rate on that.

Bilstein have more of a stock feel, not as much drop and vastly more expensive. The PSS9's run well over $3000, I think from memory it was closer to $3500+ but I'd have to check. Although I do recall I could buy the V3's (with height, rebound and compression) for less than the PSS9's. The KW are 18 way adjustable, the PSS9 are 9 way.

Head over to M3forums and check it out, its been covered dozens of times. With KW v PSS9 and other kits like Ground Control and OHLINS. The site sponsors (places like Bimmerperformance store) reckon KW are a superior product with regards to PSS9.

A few members have gone from PSS9 to KW's, none of the threads I read before I bought mine indicated anyone swapping the other way (not to say they haven't) and they were all happier with the KW.

I recently installed the PSS9's, cost was $1500 USD + approx $250 freight; with the exchange rate that is a good saving of what I was quoted by the Aust distributors (Heasman in Mascot), they quoted me $3900 + installation.

Installation by Pedders in Alexandria was about $450 including alignment of all 4 corners. Jamie has done a few Bathursts so knows his stuff & went the extra mile to rectify a minor rattle I had post installation.

Their drop is more than adequate, infact I would prefer the car to be a fraction higher. I am presently running them as 4F/6R and this setting is great, has really improved the feel of the car in the twisty bits.

Will play with some other dampner settings in due course, however as they are not something your likely to play with often access etc does not bother me, infact I'll probalby just take it to Pedders and pay them a few $ to make any changes.

Have never tried other brands so cannot comment on them. Like anything it boils down to personal preference and recommendations from other users.

You just have to buy a Wakefield licence. Costs $50 for the year and your ready to rock.

Private days are good fun and run about $250-$270 out of your hip pocket if you have a dozen or so people

I invited to attend the track day by my business partner (who is a friend of the person who hired out the track). It was a “private day” and I did not need a licence, though I filled out a waiver form. I never saw the cost of attending as it went through the business.

Track Days are brilliant and so addictive.
