Sounds like a bearing about to go.

I'd remove the belt, and spin all the peripherals by hand. Bad bearings "feel" rough when you turn the pulley. Normally, it should feel nice and smooth.

Typically it's the idler or tensioner, but it could be A/C, alternator, etc that has the bad bearing.

I would get it taken care of ASAP, as if the bearing does grenade, it will be a lot more expensive to fix.

The crazy thing about this is if I turn the engine off and restart, it goes away every single time...very sporadic as to when it occurs......very frustrating because when I take it to have it looked at they can't replicate the sound. Also, the other day my whole car shut off during this...lights, radio, engine, everything. My car is one of the ones that the power cord is being recalled on and I am starting to wonder could this electrical issue have something to do with it...I have been having electronic issues for a couple of months such as radio cuts out then cuts back in, door locks, etc. I am having the recall work done Tuesday so we will see. I would have thought that if it was a bearing or belt cutting the engine off and on would have no affect on the noise...its like it resets something.

Okay, so I had the recall work done on the Power Supply Cord by the dealer over a week ago and have had no problems with this noise since then...I honestly think this was an electrical issue all along.
