320D Injector upgrade, do 335D injectors fit?

Hi All,

I have an early 2006 E91 320D (im sure this is the M47 engine), its done 180,000 miles, and i'm looking at tuning it.

can anyone tell me if the injectors from the 335D would fit? this is a 2 fold upgrade,

one issue being my current injectors have done 180k, and as such are pretty tired, resulting in poorer MPG.

second being that at some point in the future i will be changing the turbo(going bigger) so would like to take 2 birds with 1 stone, and give myself headroom for more power later on.

obviously if i do install larger injectors, i will need to get the car remapped to suit, but thats ok with me.

Boy, that's a question for someone really knowledgeable about tuning and stuff.

However I would hazard to guess that, while they might physically fit, it's not going to work with the ECU (DDE). The reason is that the M47 appears to not use the piezo-electric injectors used on the M57TU2D30. Piezo-electric injectors use a different programming, and different elements on the rail (for return flow, etc.) and I doubt that the M47 DDE will drive them correctly unless completely re-programmed.

thanks for the input, i went and had a dig around realOEM and your spot on, the 335D injectors are completely different (and similar to the later, N47 320D engines).

further searching however has found that the 535D M57N engine uses the same injector type as the 320D M47N2 (and unlike the 530D or 330D, its a different part number to the 320D ones)

so now i wonder if i can find somewhere to get injector specifications to find out just how much more the 535D M57N engine injectors can flow.

Hi, yes they fit perfectly! here is the final result of a bmw e90 320d with 163hp stock
275hp and 530nm
