Dealer detail?

What stuff does the dealer use to like cover up marks, my car had like not many scratches/marks on hood n I compounded it a little n marks started showing up after cleaning it really good? Thanks

As a dealer, my main concern would be to keep costs low. The cheapest way to cover up light swirls are waxes or sealants with fillers which are a temporary fix. It basically fills up the swirls to make the surface smooth with a clean look. Which is probably why after you compounded it, you removed all the fillers, unveiling the true condition of the paint. or you may have caused the marks yourself.. but im betting the dealer covered it up

if you compounded it, then there shouldnt be any little marks, just hazing
are you sure it wasnt something you did? how did you compound?

It's not from me because I brought it detailer to see what they say and it was from "love bugs" a problem in Florida few months and if you don't wipe them off they burn through the clear coat and leave white marks, but wasn't there before I compounded
