Oil level?

Last night when I got out of work and started the car the oil service light came on and when i check on the dash it said +1qt and alont with that i got a service engine soon light. on the drive home the i checked the oil level and it said ok but CEL was still on...

my question is would i get a cel if the oil is low ...my last oil change was about 7k miles ago i was gonna be taking the car to the dealer sometime next week

car is 2011 335i sedan with jb4 stage 2 and bm cp

You shouldn't get a CEL from low oil, just a low oil light (yellow oil can symbol).

how many miles since your last oil change or top up?

My 2007 335i has been burning oil like crazy... about 1 qt in 2 months (2k miles).
