Question: Anyone Sumitomo HTR iii 275/30/19 in the rear?

I posted this question on the wheel and tire thread, and got one encouraging response. I thought I'd also post this on the AWD thread to see other responses.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=847421

So basically, I'm thinking of installing 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 with Sumitomo HTR iii. I understand this is "mathematically" the best setup for AWDs because the minimal rolling diameter difference front to back (I think it's is only 0.02%).

I'm on stock suspension, so I'm not worried about any rubbing with 275s in the rear. I also see that many xi drivers have used this set-up and not reported any problems.

My problem: The Sumitomo tire specs on Tirerack.com shows a 5 Revs Per Mile difference between front and rear. Some on this forum have suggested keeping the difference between 3-4 RPM. The xi system is very sensitive so I don't want to overburden the transfer case.

Question: Anyone with AWD running Sumitomo tires with the 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 set-up? If so what are your experiences?

Thanks

Exclamation Sumitomo

I cant comment on the size's as i am running factory size of 225/45/17. I can comment on the Sumitomo HTR's though. They are not a good tire IMO, i went to a local circuit event with BMWCC, both my front tires have chunks out of them all the way around, and the rear and torn apart as well.

took it drag racing last weekend, was peeling all 4 wheels off the launch, not very impressive.

Tires do not bite very well, and chew apart very quick.
