May I ask in which month in 2009 does the BMW 3 series start having the iDrive shortcut key on the centre console please?

I believe both the old and new iDrive have the 6-8 shortcut buttons you can configure, if that's what you are referring to.

Do you mean programming shortcuts into the 1-6 buttons? Mine's a May 2009 and I've programmed the buttons to maps, aux, enter address, etc..
