WTF is this?!!
So I've been having problems with cylinder 6 misfiring lately. I decided to swap the coil and check the plug. This was sitting on top of the plug. WTF?!

The misfire hit the plug so hard that the coils' tooth fell out!
It's probably a jimmy rig used by one of the engineers to close the gap between the coil and the plug.

That's crazy, I looked at the coil and didn't see anything strange, but ya it does look like that piece in the picture. Weird.

That peace keeps the injector in a certain direction. If you over tighten the fuel line that connects to the injector you could brake this peace off and fall on top of spark plug.
And MAYBE if the injector is twisted, that's what's causing the misfire?

I have no codes so far but if I get any I probably just need to replace the coil and possibly adjust the injector positioning?

I've had that happen before and found those things.
There is still alot of pressure on the injector holding it down. I don't think that would cause misfires. There's a pretty tiny weld joint that holds that tab in place in the Injector. Have the injectors ever been replaced? Get some pics of the injectors positions? |
