Hi
I just wonder if somebody has ever tried setting up MS-8 for an active sound system.

My sound system details are under my signature.
I am tempted to retrofit CIC with combox.

And then plan is to see if I can try MS-8 in active configuration.
2 channels= Tweeters
2 channels= mids
2 channels= mid bass
1 channel= sub
1 channel= central speaker

I will be setting front as three way system and additon of it will make it 4 way active sound system.


Anybody who has tried MS-8 for active sound system?

or any comments suggestions?

pretty much everyone is running the ms-8 with active crossovers....thats one of the main reason you would use one, no need for passive crossovers.

Most of us are going 2 way on the fronts though, and using the rears, but there is no reason you cant go 3 way in front and ditch the rears (but you wont get proper L7 processing from the MS-8)

I have fitted 2 ms-8 in two different cars in Uk and both are considered excellent.
Unfortunately, its not for me.
I love front active sound system, and exception is sub.
Hence thinking of going for active sound system with ms-8.

Andy W has indicated that the loss of rears for L7 would diminish any benefit of active fronts.

It could definetly be done.

If you don't already have the ms8, you should look at the Alpine h800. You won't really be using logic 7 anyways, and you'll actually have decent mid bass with the h800.
