Things to do in Boston
Hi everyone,
I am from La and visiting my bro in NH, and was planning On visiting Boston for a day or so. What are the must do places or eat over there? I have done the freedom trail and tried Mikes Pastsrys. Any suggestions is appreciated |

There was a pretty good thread about a year ago... I'll look it up when I'm at my computer.

Depending on what you are looking for (casual, upscale, type of food, etc.), I'll throw out Cafe Marliave. It has a cafe style area downstairs and more formal dining room upstairs (same menu available in both, just quieter upstairs with big windows, more cafe/bar downstairs). Definitely more of an upscale place and on the pricey side, but one of my favorites if you like good food and drinks.
It's one of the oldest restaurants in the city (been through several iterations, now back to it's French/American roots) and is convenient to a lot of places you might want to go: Beacon Hill, Boston Common, not far from Quincy Market, theater district, etc. Cool list of prohibition-style cocktails if you like that sort of thing and if you like oysters, they always have a great selection from their raw bar. They have dollar oysters from 4:00-6:00 and 9:00-10:00 daily. Entrees are really good too, particularly the pressed chicken over risotto. If you're just looking to have some fun, a quick meal and a couple drinks, ignore the suggestion. For a really good meal and cool cocktails, it's a great spot. I like to take people from out of town there. |

Go to the south end for food. Hit Coppa or Toro, both places have awesome food. North end is good for a nice touristy walk and some italian pastries. Also great for girls with hot asses in yoga pants.
If you want to see where the poseur euro trash and wannabes hang out, Check out Newbury street, it's mildly entertaining, you will undoubtedly see some nice fast cars and people with too much money or pretending to have too much money. Go to a game at Fenway if the Red Sox are in town, also entertaining for the people watching and sometimes a baseball game. Got to check out Harvard Square for the freaks and the Campus. Good food in Harvard Sq as well. My 2 cents on our city. |
