HELP! COIL pack spring?
I'm in the middle of diagnosing my 335i's misfire by moving the coil pack 3 to 2.
However I notice there is a small spring laying in the cylinders, I don't know how they are supposed to go in/stay? |

That spring might be part of the tip of the coil pack... i don't remember what the part that sits on the plug looks like but it probably is that. Also your injectors are part of the possible recall batch I believe. 13537565138-01 to 13537565138-07 have the possibility of being faulty and can cause your misfire as well.

It depends. They have to scan the injectors and their computer will tell them if they need to be replaced. I think if you go to them with your VIN or key fob they can see if you have any active recalls. SI B13 14 10 Is the service bulletin, google it. Id pull off the mods first before bringing it in though, at least the tune and DCIs

I tried to put back the springs best I could, the problem got worst... Car shudders at 2K+ RPM and throws service engine soon light now. I scanned it and its persistant with P0303 code for cylinder 3 even after switching the coil pack from 3 to 2.

That screams bad injector. Check the plug to make sure its not fouled. Although the plug may be bad from the bad injector too.

Oh boy... Not sure if you are kidding or not? If you aren't that is fine I just don't want to come off like a dick. The fuel injector is the thing right above the spark plug hole in your first picture with the dot matrix code and the two 3 digit numbers under it on the left side. DON'T mess with it at all unless you really know what you are doing, and even then don't mess with it, the retainer clip and seals need to be replaced every time you touch them and the seals need special tools. Do you have the special spark plug socket? If you do, wait till the engine block is cool and pull the #3 plug and take a picture of it, replace it to the proper torque 23 +/-3 Nm (18 +/-2 ft-lb). Make sure the coil is seated all the way when you put it back, they have to be in a certain orientation which you can see on the rest of them.

I'm doing a search and I can see that the injectors might be apart of a recall? |

I didn't pay enough attention to the coil pack it self to realise that the tips were broken causing the sparks to ark sideways leading to misfiring. I had 3 damaged ones and were replaced car runs fine now.
