I assume you have no comfort access? Not familiar with e93s but no ski passthrough or anything? I recall seeing a few key in trunk threads a little while back so maybe a quick search might help?

Good luck!

if there is a ski bag pass through and your rear seats are foldable you just have to use the ski bag passthrough and reach for the latches to bring the seats down

in your second worst case scenario the hinges that hold your two roof pieces together are removable from the outside I THINK (I remember one german brand car was like this cant remember if it was bmw or benz)
you can disassemble the bolts and remove the roof and get into yoir car from there

last resort would be to smash your window to get in... and claim insurance that someone broke into your car

lock the doors with the interior central locking button, unlock the doors with the same button, hit the trunk release. does that work?

No normal way to unlock the car unless you have a key. The car is assuming you and your key are inside and you don't want anyone else open the door or trunk without your pemition.

Two things you can do, try really hard to find the second key fob or report losing of key fob to dealer and get a replacement. You gonna need a backup key sooner or later anyway.

And I guess that's one reason BMW provides two keys in the first place

If you call BMW Assist, they can open it remotely. (That's what I did when it happened to me; I don't have comfort access either.)

Only other option I know of is to use the other key fob, or if the doors are unlocked, you can push the trunk release button.

Good luck.

FWIW, this is the single best reason to have comfort access

You aren't allowed to post on these forums after drinking anymore lol.

I found that I did the same thing while at the car wash with my 328i that did not have comfort access. Had the keys in the trunk, closed the trunk while the doors were locked and I was fkd.

Only way I was able to get in was to call Ron at StreetXtreme, explain I am a dumbass, and he came by (was the car wash around the corner from him), and he unlocked the door with ones of those long wires CAA uses.

Unfortunately, you got to call CAA or equivalent to get them to unlock the door, just tell them to be careful, it puts stress on your front door window when trying to get the wire through.

All and all Ron was able to do it without any scratches etc to my car.

all : thanks so much for your all comments. I can access and drive my car now.

What I did was to call BMW downtown and the charge for the service from them was $139 ( if they could open the door easily)up to $500( they would call me if they had to bang the window ).They really scared me at this time. That sounded stupid, didn't it. One thing they pointed out that the road assistant from BMW at $200/year. After a long talk, they told me it was possible for me to enroll the service but they were not sure to re-active my car remotely because there was a chip in the car and it should be enabled already for the process. If not, they had to open and enabled it. Once again, the door had to be opened at $139(up to @500) either ways. I was so fkd up.

Towing costed me $150 ( $50 for serivce + $20 (4 kms from my house to the dealer + $50 for dolly ). Total was around $300 which was much to pay for my stupid carelessness. Then,I decided to look for another service with cheaper rate . I googled and got this. He asked me what was happend. After explanation, he told me that he could open the door at $60...Using a long hard wire,he slid it thru the window. Honestly, I was freaked out if he caused any damages to my car. But wait...Firstly, he pushed the central locking button on the console and then pulled a handle of the door panel on the driver side. Amazing, he did it without any scratches on the window and the car as well.

Finally, I folded the rear seats and opened the ski bag and got my key fob in the trunk..... and I found my second key fob with my manual in the trunk as well

It is for me because I was pretty sure that I stored the spare key in an easily accessible place in my house and I am totally wrong...

Anyways, I am now. Guys, please double check if you do store a spare key in the right place so that it wont happen to you in the future ( who knows rite ? )

PS : I found a clip how to gain an access to your car very quickly and costly at here.
