Does LCI TPMS FIT on PRE LCI MODEL?
ok I ended up buying wheels that was off from 2011. From the look of the wheels, it has steel valve stem so im assuming it has TPMS.. Does LCI TPMS work with my pre lci car? I reset my TPMS and it saids malfunction.

If your car is a 2007 E92 as stated in your profile, the TPMS from a 2011 3 series will not work. You will need to get the correct TPMS for your car and install them on your wheels.

I have a set of preLCI TPMS that came with the wheels I bought from a member. I haven't gotten around to putting them up for sale yet, but soot me a PM if you're interested. I'm in the DC suburbs of VA a few times a week.

You will need new sensors.

just stumbled on this because i picked up some winter wheels with TPMS off a 2010 328i cab. not sure the build date on this. will these work with an 09 e90 sedan? im confused as to why the 433mhz from a 2010-2011 shouldnt work with the 433mhz 07-09 system. everything i search for says "it just wont work"

Your research is correct. Although we do not know the exact reason why, the answer is that the 2007-2009 sensors are not compatible with the 2010-2011 sensors.

I wish someone out there could explain the difference in the rde008 and the rde012 modules so i could understand exactly why sensors with the same 433mhz frequency will not work.

The exact reason is the RDE008 2006-2009 build vehicles used 4 sensors and 4 receivers, one in each fender well. The RDE012 2010+build used 4 sensors and 1 receiver, thus the technology involved changed allowing the car to "find" the location of each sensor by other means. Hope this helps.
