Should work fine in Parallels. I haven't heard anything about an OS X native version yet.

In a nut shell, they let you run XP on your Mac. I would suggest Parallels since it's just a VM and runs inside of OS X, versus Boot Camp where you have to exit out of OS X to get to XP.
Here is a link to the Parallels site http://www.parallels.com/, basically you install Parallels then install a fresh copy of XP (or Vista) and there you go. |

I personally run parallels 3.0. Make sure that you plug in your USB to serial adapter after windows starts running, otherwise parallels may not recognize it, or may think it is in use by the mac OS.

Install Bootcamp and you will be able to do it.

would my PowerMac G4 be strong enough to run XP and OS X at the same time enough to run the program?
You should look into writing a OS X version if there is a demand for it. Thanks |

Parallels and bootcamp do not run on G5 and G4 (PowerPC) Macintosh computers. If you want to run Windows utilities, you need an "Intel inside" Macintosh.

You're all crazy. Why would you want to shut down everything you're doing in OS X just to use one Windows app for a few minutes?
Parallels is what you want. The only reason to reboot into Windows (Boot Camp) is if you want to do some serious gaming and don't want OS X and the VM taking up resources. For occasional or ongoing use of general Windows-only applications Parallels is way nicer to use. |

My engineering workstation at work was due for lease replacement, so I got IT to give me an engineering laptop just so I could have a WinPC to update my PROceed!
I have a MBP that is now connected to my home theater system, since I have a new Alu iMac 2.8 that I use for everything except for games, that's where my XP box comes in handy. |

For those who do not have an Intel Mac notebook, try using Virtual PC, which is like parallels for the prior Macs.
