Vent hose question.
So I got lucky and it was just something minor and nothing big.
I was leaking coolant everywhere. So I starting pulling the intake off to get a better look. I was gonna keep tearing it down untill i found the problem or got the radiator out. Whatever came first. Well i got lucky and it was the very firrst thing I could see. Vent hose running accross the top of the radiator. So heres my question. I would of had to wait for the part a few days so I just fixed it myself. Does that tube have any sort of heat characteristics that would make it different then a fuel tube. The piece i used is the same thickness and its nearly identical. Anyone think it will melt? |

Most plastic melts at well over 1,000 deg F. Engine coolant usually runs between 180 and 230 deg f, so it shouldn't melt. But I think you should at some point replace it with the OEM part.
