After Market Extended Warranty Well Worth It
So after having 70k on my car and doing FBO on my car, about 2 weeks later my turbo seals start blowing smoke. When I purchased my car it was not a CPO car but I purchased a After Market extended "Quality Guard Plus" bumper to bumper warranty. So I took it to a Recommended bmw performance shop. Well after jumping through some hoops and the warranty company give me a tough time as far as them wanting a BMW dealership doing the work. Thank for giving me $7800 worth of parts and Labor for me just spending my $100 deductible . This would consist of 2 NEW Turbo's, water pump, thermostat, new gaskets, NEW injectors, O-rings, New plugs and oil change. So in the long run the extended warranty was well worth wit

Wow, the warranty has already paid itself off many times.
I wish I could replace all that stuff at once, my car would run like new again (literally). GOOD STUFF! |

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

I thought the turbos were warrantied through BMW for 100k miles???
Anyway my aftermarket warranty has paid a total of about $7500 in parts/labor and I'm not even half way through the time or mileage limit. Even if I bought the parts and installed them myself, I still would've paid more than I did for the warranty, which was $2500. The warranty company has't given me one problem with any claims that I've made. |
