325i; need to get rid of "restrictive exhaust for better 'flow'"but dont want it loud
HELP!!!
ok so i know to get the best of the AA tune & of my n52 i need to get a better flowing exhaust and opening up the intake slightly. Most likely will do the Eurobox on the 3stage intake manifold. Now i know the main option that everyone goes is the BMW Performance exhaust. I would love to get OEM but i think the sound is kinda "ricey" . Correct me if im wrong , or show me some better videos, but the couple ive seen sound real screamish loud!!! So my question is, is there any exhaust that will give me the advantage of better "flow" for my tune with out a change in exhaust?? Thanks all! |

Magnaflow, deep tone not much louder than stock. I added the cat-back system and did the charcoal filter delete and gained about 1 mpg.
cheers

just changing the exhaust/mufflers does very little, if anything, on these cars, so I wouldn't spend too much money on it worrying about HP. just get something that sounds good to you.

as read and seen on dynos couple times, you get up to par with the 330i in power with the 3 stage manifold & Eurobox, but to get slightly higher you need a better exhaust. & I seen a vid with the SS headers & it sounded like shit, really buckish loud, Sounded really off. By the way I come from Small block Chevy's so that's why I think this sounds ricey. It might not sound EXACTLY like a Honda, but it sure as hell does not have any muscle to it! I really wouldn't be in it for the sound. More or so for the engine. |

stock exhaust is quite good - dual pipes all the way back to just before the muffler. I already have the 3 stage IM and AA tune. I kept the stock exhaust and still picked up 35+hp and nearly 40 tq on my 325i. All the dynos I've seen of aftermarket exhaust are between 0 and 3 hp gain on our cars.
