After the cows**t incident, I've decided to reshod the 16" and use them over the winter - which tyre should I go with at the budget end of the spec. These will only be on over the winter.

I had 19" with non runflats but knackered 2 of 'em!!! So switching back to 16" non runflats for the winter (give me time to get my 19" repaired etc)

Yep 320d e90

I had Pirelli's on the E46 for four years and was happy with them. I got 29000miles out of the rears and 32000 out of the fronts.

I wouldnt be buying "budget" tyres. These are the only contact with the road, and as its winter i would be spending more not less!!

Dunlop sp9000 are a good all round tyre and not massivly more expensive than what you quote.

Dunlop - 205/55 R16 [91W] - SP Sport 9000 £ 71.68

i use event tyres, top service and they come to you!

Cheers Steve, I love the Dunlops I have on the 19's so may try them. Any other opinions?

Matt - Thats pretty good wear on the Pirellis - the reviews I'd read didn't get the same out of theirs.

There is an interesting review of Tyres in the latest edition of EVO. They test a group of tyres in differing test conditions, and also subjectively over a road route.

Same edition also has a large road test with most BMW M cars (from M1, through M3 Evo, M5 etc.)

Change of plan as event tyres dont fit in my area!

Gone for the same tyres I have on the 19's.
