Not to hijack thread but Im visiting st Petersburg at end of july. Ill be staying at the Sirata. Am I in a good area with lots to do?
Are there any MUST go places while Im there that wont cost me my life savings in a taxi ride? lol
Like great food or things to do or see

Downtown St Pete has the Dali Museum and some pretty good bars and restaurants. Pretty good vibe. I think there's a trolley service between downtown and the beaches for a couple $.

In Sarasota, anyone else down here? Not sure I'll be able to make that trip this weekend, doing a special track night at bradenton Saturday.
