Spec 2+
Anyone with the Steel SMFW and Spec 2+ setup know if the stutter getting into first and or reverse dies down after the 500/600 mile break-in period? I guess the same question goes for the chatter although I can certainly live with it if this is the worst it gets.

Chatter also doesn't get better. Turn off the ac to get less chatter.

Figured - and figured. Thanks man. The modified CDV that you have worth looking into? How about the DV's?

Modified CDC is worth it for 2nd gear engagement. You need upgraded DVs if you are running 15+ pds boost

Does the upgraded clutch really better than oem? And did you upgraded because your started to slip or just to upgrade?

I have the Spec stage 2+ w/ steel SMFW for about 2000 miles. The engagement does get smoother over time. I don't even notice it anymore, but in general it want's to be engaged quicker than stock so slipping it really slow from a stop may always give some amount of stutter. If you commit to taking off and give it enough gas though it feels great. I upgraded at 60K miles because stock clutch was slipping with FBO, E85 and meth. The chatter will always be there, nothing you can do about that. Overall I've been very happy with the clutch and flywheel. It's solid.

how much power your car produces on such a setup? 1/4 time?

Mine doesn't usually gear chatter (or rattle) when cold and I usually don't notice it at all unless I have my AC on (which I don't hear with my windows up). On the flip side there are times when I start the car and do hear it... As for clutch chatter during engagement, it only really happens with slow engagement in 1st/reverse. Even when it does, it's not loud at all. Lastly, the clutch definitely got better after the first 1000 miles.

May be you've raced some fast cars? Just to compare the level of power your car is producing.

I personally cleaned up a lot of excessive wastegate duty cycles when i switched to the Tial BOV. I was running about 19 PSI peak tapering to about 15 by redline. |
