SES light on. Code P0127 IAT too high
Hi all--my SES light came on today. I checked the code once I got home, it's p0127 which is IAT (intake air temp) too high.
I have a 2011 e90 335i with 19k miles and INJEN intake. I have had the intake in for a few month now and this code came out of no where. any thoughts? I searched and i do t see a lot about it. This wasn't on the track or anything just driving home from work in SF bay area so. I am almost sure if I take it to dealership, they will give me shit about the intake. help appreciated . |

Do NOT take a modded car to the dealer for an SES light. There is more than 'shit' they will give you, like flagging your car and voiding all future warranty claims.
I am not sure on this SES light, but it sounds like it would be a typical one if running an aftermarket intake. |

I will see if it goes away on its own in a couple days and if not I'll clear it and see if it comes back. if it comes back it looks like I have to swap to stock and test to see if it comes back |

Get that piece of shit out from under your hood ASAP and sell it.
Injen intakes are the worst, and are notorious for heat-soak. Instead, get a BMS intake. Zero heat-soak and a cool whoosh sound too, not to mention dyno proven gains of 7-10 HP at WOT. Too bad you don't have a JB4 or you could have cleared the codes |

injen does go whooosh as well, though. Anyways, the code cleared itself a couple hours ago. I have a actron scanner but I wanted to wait to see if it went away or I would take it to dealer. I'm really ocd sometimes. how fast is uninstall of jb4?. I was thinking Cobb ap but contemplating the price different and convenience. I really appreciate your input, man. |

What mods do u have and tune.
I've had issues where the maf sensor was seated wrong on the intake and would throw a code. Pull the maf sensor off and put back on - reseat it. See if that helps. I ran castless downpipe and the injen intake without a tune for months and it felt solid. When u start to stack ur powermods, certain mods will not add up with the n55. If u have a tune- cai becomes cosmetic IMO. Sounds great with the amplified diverter valve going whoosh.

and yes, the sound is truly amazing. that is why I went with Injen as I don't think BMS would sound the same. |

I uninstalled my Injen intake and took the car to the dealership, they said the MAF sensor was faulty and they replaced it. I bought a BMS intake a few days ago and installed it instead of INJEN, much easier to take off before dealership visit but it just doesn't sound as good. :/ oh well.
just an update for future ref. |
