125i coupe vs 325 coupe, different co2 levels and fuel cosumption
Hello everyone, looking to buy either 125i or 325i but noticed that even though the engines supposed to be the same consumption and co2 levels are much worst on 125i, is this some kind of mistake or for some reason 125i is less economical?
Thanks |

You'll need to give more details. Exact age of cars is needed.
The 325i got a new 3.0L engine around 2008/2009. The old 325i was similar to the 125i, but only a 2.5L See wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_N52 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_N53 Direct injection is the key feature on the N53 Last edited by djgandy; 07-09-2013 at 07:22 AM.. |

yeah i know that but lets say compare two 2009 models both got n53 3.0 engines, power output is same 218bhp but co2 325i 173g 125i 189g, fuel consumption 325i 39mpg and 125i 34mpg on average. so even though 325i is a bit more expensive to buy its better choice?

actually im thinking about 330 as well i just got confused when i started looking at 125i coupes and noticed the differences between the engines, hence the question.
as far i checked no 130i coupes available just the old 1 series with the n52 engines. |

1 series doesn't have a N53, it's N52. That is the difference. Same power, different engine. |

Emissions regulations vary from country to country. Then you have the manufacturing and stocking side of things. If they have engines being built they have to use them

I have an E92 325i mSport auto. The log book says its a 2496cc but every time I try to insure it the car comes up as a 2996cc. How can I tell which one it is. I'm fairly certain it's a 2496cc since the fuel consumption is rubbish and I feel the car lacks the grunt required sometimes. I drove a friends 325i with the 2996cc engine and his car felt much more responsive. Think I bought the wrong engine. So to get back on topic I think buy a 330i.
