Will wheels make my car look even more like a monster truck?
I have been contemplating purchasing a set of 19" Alufelgen SF-71's and I have an X Drive car. The wheel gap is really bothering me but I do not want to lower it because of the roads/winter. Would the 19" wheels help eliminate some of that wheel gap?

its an illusion because of smaller sidewall in tire. 19s wont looks bad compared to going to 20s on an e92. if you get proper offsets, you can minimize the illusion by having the wheels closer to the fender.

I wouldn't say it would make the gap look bigger, but the only real way to eliminate wheel gap is to lower your car. If you're concerned with lowering the car and winter, why not look into some coilovers?

It will look worse because of the lower sidewalls. Even though the wheel gap is the same, the lower sidewall will be relatively smaller which will make the wheel gap look bigger.
If you planned on getting them with a larger rolling diameter to fill the gap, don't. It will make your car look like it's sitting on stilts since the entire car will be higher up. |

Get 18s and taller tires. See sig.
I don't buy the "stilts" argument. I've had plenty of lowered cars in the past. With these the only thing that stands out is less fender gap as the increased ground clearance is hardly noticable. |

One of the reasons it doesn't look that bad is, because you have factory wheels with factory specs. Once you go aftermarket wheels with different specs it will start looking more like monster truck. Also i still think you need to lower the front little bit, to match the rear.
