OIL CHANGE

How long did u guys wait until you got your 1st oil change? Im at 2000 miles right now and taking it in tomorrow.

5,000 miles. Oil was still quite clean.

4300 miles. Oil was black as smut. They asked me how long it was since I got it changed

I'm at 7000 miles and still running on the original oil.

It's not because my car is a lease and I don't care.

It's just that I'm being lazy and cheap!

I don't want to change it myself and I can't bring myself to pay the big bucks for an unscheduled oil change.

Plus, my car tells me that I'm good for another 8000 miles! That's crazy.......

1300 miles changed to redline 5-30
My car doesnt burn any oil and I am up to 20,000 miles trouble free.

Isn't it a waste to change oil, with so few miles, if it's clean? Isn't it like OCD - like compulsively washing one's hands unnecessarily out of fear of contamination?

changed mine imediately after break-in.

First at 5000, done myself.

Now I change it after every 5000 or after 4 track events, whichever occurs first.

just changed mine at 1065 miles, Mobil 1 0W-40. Will probably change again @ 7k. Easyyyyyyyy!

Enjoyed the redline joy ride afterwards (for the first time)

Of course if people didn't start these threads there wouldn't be anything to read. Genuinely new threads with a question that hasn't already been covered and can be found by using the

button are really few and far between...

Personally I like doing the oil myself, and I did my first just after the so-called "break in" period.
