I'm looking to replace what most likely seems to be a worn out pivot bearing that's on the shift lever. I've seen the DIY for upgrading to a SSK which removes the entire lever, is there a way to remove the pivot bearing from the top without removing the lever? I searched the DIY section as I thought I saw one before but now can't find it.

...oh and yes...I'll think about doing a SSK in the future
