NCS Expert Profiles Help

I got so many different profiles from different sources and I'm trying to basically just have 2. One ExpertMode one that I can use to revert any module back to factory settings and one I can use to code with.

So I read *********'s instructions on how to setup an expertmode one.
It looks like the only difference is 1 checkbox that's not selected under the FSW/PSW section (FSW-/PSW-Manipulate with FSW_PSW.MAN)

Simple enough. I did that.

However I decided to do a comparison between the regular coding profile I have and the Expertmode one I got in all the different sections when you are in the Edit Profile mode and there is one other difference. However, I can't tell if it is correct or the files I got were changed from the default by someone.

Under VIN/FCS/SA/CHASSIS section one box is unchecked.
see below. Should this be unchecked for Expertmode or did someone do this for some other reason.

Does anyone have a default expertmode profile that is setup to restore back to factory settings? Not sure if one loads down on install of tools 2.12. but I don't have one.

Thanks!

I had one by default when I followed the install on this link:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=859474

*FYI, I only tested the link above on my X64 bit machine.

see screenshot below.

That screenshot you show I get, that's in the DIY instructions on the forum on how to make an expert mode profile.

My question was the other setting in my screen shot. That's how it was set from a set of files I got for ExpertMode profile. So I'm trying to figure out which is correct or does it matter.

Does anyone have an Expertmode profile that they have ACTUALLY used to revert a module back to factory settings? and check the setting in the screenshot at the beginning of this post?

This is the problem with all these files running around, they have all been tweaked by people and no one seems to know what's correct.

Thanks

Those pictures, I attached, are from my personal computer.

Also, i used the expertmode profile to set coding back to default.

The deal is by using expertmode and the correct steps, you are coding the car back to VO according to your car's particular setup.

Hi, I get that part, but you are not understanding my question I think. I know what expertmode profile does.

But I'm questioning the one I have because of that one setting being uncheck in the
VIN/ZCA/FA/CHASSIS section, NOT the section of your screenshot. Look at my screenshot. Can you open up your expert profile, go to edit profile and see if all 4 of those are checked on yours? Or are just the 3 checked.

I already have it set correctly in the FSW/PSW section. I'm just trying to have someone that has used one that works tell me if that setting in the VIN/ZCS/FA/CHASSIS section should be checked or not.

Thanks!

Sean

Ok looks like they should all be checked.
Thanks for checking!

Also, what verison of NCS do you have? And is it 32 bit or 64 bit. With the updated text file you know you can get it to read English.

I figured out what that setting does in NCS Expert. All it does is turn off one of the function buttons on the bottom of the screen in NCS expert. When you first go in you can read the VIN from the ECU or a file. Unchecking that turns off the option to read from a file (its like button 5 on bottom) (which I'm not sure why you would want to but obviously there a reason, probably more advanced coding stuff). So I can leave it at its default (checked on) even for the Expertmode profile. Whoever changed my file must just have wanted it not to display as an option on the buttons. Mystery solved!

Thank you sir!
The files you sent is in English but it's throwing an error!
Something about the Chassis is faulty.

Any chance you can help me with INPA?
I'm having issues with the data also being in german!
