Weatherband Radio Option
So I tried turning on the Weatherband radio option and it now shows up in my iDrive and has 7 choices labeled Channel 1, Channel 2, etc
But there is no reception on any channel. So I'm thinking whoever put this in the coding sheet for e9x cars didn't test it? I don't think the 3 series cars have the receiver for this. NOAA Weatherband, by the way is a US system. Broadcasts 24/7 and has 7 VHF channels. (see below). I would think iDrive displaying Channel1, Channel2, etc it would list out those 7 frequencies like the regular radio if they were being received. Is anyone actually got those to work and RECEIVE channels on a e9x 3 series? I know it works on 5 series and others. Thanks |

I suspect it's an antenna issue. I get a very weak signal when I'm driving over the dam near my house.
My Mini Cooper worked better as I could get signal reasonably infrequently. The BMW was a very weak signal, even where it was strongest in the Mini. |
